Ok, Gap, if you’re going to advertise on my Tumblr feed (which I hate), I’m going to use you for reference. Should have had him giving the finger or something.
Sharp dressed Monkey.
EDIT: In answer to one of the notes (there doesn’t seem to be another way to respond to those), drawing Monkey with a straight back would be boring. I’m sure he sleeps curled up or hanging from something. :”D
not sure on the dimensions, but gouache over collage.
I can’t imagine that anyone that’s watching me ISN’T watching Chris, but if not, you really really should. I honestly don’t think there’s a kind of art Chris can’t do.
Final. Can’t help but hear, “It’s a Hap-Hap-Happy Day” when looking at this. No reason he can’t be whistling it.
WIP. Penciling and inking done, editing and color to come but I have to go to work first. I like to draw at least one figure like this a day if I can, even if I do have a shift to go to. Note the sheriff’s badge which I forgot. Will paste it in properly later.
Monkey and Crawford again. Wasn’t really satisfied with the Monkey character so re-drew him on a separate piece of paper. Got him into Illustrator, erased the old Monkey out, resized Crawford and matched them up. The ‘seam’ is right behind Crawford’s neck and is invisible to my eye. One of the reasons I LOVE the eraser tool in AI.
